BMW caliper

BMW caliper refers to a component of the rotor brake system. The brake caliper is the actuator that presses the brake pads against the surface of the brake disc. A BMW brake caliper is only found in brake rotor systems. As the name suggests, a brake caliper operates like a caliper. It closes to grip the rotating disc, thereby slowing down the rotation or totally stopping the rotation. The brake caliper is also comparable to a vice in the way it grips the brake rotor. The two jaws of the caliper close onto the rotating brake disc to slow it down or totally stop it.

On the other hand, the actuators of the brake drum system are the brake shoes. Instead of clamping on the brake drum, the brake shoes push the brake pads against the internal wall of the brake drum. By contrast, the brake shoes are internal components of the brake drum system while the brake calipers are external components of the brake rotor system. The brake rotor system is more compact and simple than the brake drum system. Hence, it is commonly used in smaller automobiles. The brake rotor system is also used in combination with the brake drum system in bigger vehicles.

A BMW caliper is typically located in the front wheels. Since the front wheels of most automobiles utilize the brake rotor system, the brake caliper can also be considered as an important component that aide in efficient steering. Discount BMW caliper is conveniently available online. Purchasing discounted calipers is more cost-effective than purchasing brand new OEM brake calipers. BMW cars are best known for ride comfort. However, safety is also among the best assets of BMW cars.
